Weekend 23/05 & 24/05/15

Staurday 23/05/15

Got up late and went back to Jesus Green for final day. Got the same table as Friday and tried some of the favourites from the past week. The Nitro Stout hadn't held up well (it was foul) but the Orchid was still good. Time turned up and then left again as he couldn't find his stewards vouchers (had to pop home). Once he returned he kept buying us beers, including the ones he like which were still on + some he hadn't got round to trying.

Had the bread & cheese, all 3 of which were nice. Tried to buy a t-shirt but they'd sold out on the Friday night.

It got increasingly busy as people finished shopping & the sun came out. So much so that they started to run out of glasses and had to use stuff scrounged from god knows where.

Left about 17.00 as there wasn't much beer & there were lots trying to buy the stuff that was left.

Top 3 beers voted for by me were:
1 Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster
2 Orchid
3 Nitro Stout

Top Ciders voted for by Lou were:
1 Spadger
2 PX Sherry Cask

[I voted for the same 2 but the other way round]

Sunday 24/05/15

Another late start so after watching FP3 on the BBC (kak)went to the Isaac at 11.30 for the Monaco GP. Was the usual glamorous & dangerous procession until shocking incidents:

1) Verstappen misjudged Gosjean's brakaing and hit him really hard
2) Versatappen going directly to the scene of the accident at St Devote, hitting with such violent force that he buried the car (making it difficult to pull out) destroying the tech-pro padding and bending the arnco behind it too
3) Mercedes pitting Hamilton (needlessly)
4) Hamilton coming out behind both Rosberg & Vettel

To say he wasn't happy is an understatement! TBF he showed good sportsmanship to congratulate Nico (who admitted that the wrong guy won) but the inquests will be long and hard.

Then switched to the footy... Oh dear.

LFC plumbed new depths of awfulness & were down by 5 goals by half time! Utterly unacceptable & in Stevie's last game too. x:(

HE did pull one back but then Crouch added a 6th. Lots of people very angry and this may be it for Brendan - he said judge him after 3 years and they did. We ended a terrible, shambolic season in 6th behind Spurs.

In other news, Newcastle finally won a game ensuring Hull (who got a creditable draw at Old Trafford (Fellaini sent off yet again)) were relegated.
