Into work on a pleasantly sunny morning. Went to West's for tea & a croissant.
Had Kate come in and do her usual bit where she assumes you know something and talks about it regardless of what you know... After a number of quations it turns out there was amajor cock-up during the special exams on Monday. One (possibly more) of the candidates went to save his work and the PC deleted it! The two TES people didn't know what to do so Kate got called in to see if she could save the day, which she did (finding the work in the temp file/folder). She then transferred it to a mac to be sure.
She actually came over to look at Bruce's PC as he'd managed to catch another email virus.
Finally got hold of Phil: he was a bit hacked off as people who were supposed to move printers today cancelled at 17.30 and said they will be there on Thursday. Even more galling for Phil is the fact that the printers have been drained and he's got work for Kettles Yard that he can't do.
Discussed what we can do & as Phil pointed out the frame forms are the same so I did 2000 of them.
Had a cheeky bastard email wanting A0 & A1 posters that he would pick up at 14.00. Had great pleasure in telling the cocksplurt that we couldn't do bigger than A3 and PandIS was closed.
Decided to re-draw the Senate House Yard map so could get it on the printer. there is some debate about having the disabled toilet/lift on the map following the construction of the robing room.
Nice to have a wander in the sun at lunchtime but it had, predictably, disappeared by home time.
Met Lou on Silver Street & into the Granta for a few beers. Got a bit cold so we ended up sitting inside while I explained to Lou the details of the fast-moving FIFA corruption investigation following the dawn raids.
Onto the Granta where Lou wanted to talk to Jo about passports & talk to Dick about doing some shifts in the pub while she was waiting for a new job.
