Sunday 15/03/15

Awake early to listen to the Aussie GP (a procession for the Merc's who were in a different league). Remember when 1 driver & 1 team winning everything was deemed bad for the sport?

Plus ça change...

Went into town for birthday sweets for Monday morning & some hair grips for Lou. Then we went to Lou's office as Doug had sent a message saying that a sheik was coming to visit 4CMR 1st thing Monday (he was hoping to "hit her up" for some money). After Lou had sent him an email we headed to the pub for nosh & the BBC's highlights of the race.

Pub was pretty busy as it was Mother's day. Dick said he'd heard that the Boathouse would have to be closed because, if they had to demolish the Tivoli, the shared wall would mean that the pub wouldn't be safe (and even if not half the garden would be closed off over the summer).

Come time to get up & meet steampunk folks in the Castle and Lou decided to miss it. Went on my own and tried a new beer from the Meantime Brewery: Yakima Red. It's kind of like Noble in that it's brewed with interesting hops (in this case Japanese ones). It was nice to chat to Jamie & Mags, Jill & Andrew & a new bloke called Craig. There s a sense of excitement that Sharon has announced SICIII will be happening at the beginning of August.

Home for a read while Lou snored.
