A somewhat frustrating day. Took stuff over to MSM and then dropped cards off at the Cavendish lab. Woman on reception (where I've left them before) directed me to their stores to leave them. That's what you get for trying to do a favour: next time I'll send them via UMS!
Emma's urgent stuff finally came in around 14.00. No proofs required as no time. Did the 1st one & then an engineer turned up. He did some fiddling but didn't have one of the parts.
Printed 2nd one for Emma. Wondered why masses of space. Upon checking it was because the twat had got a P cover but L pages. Sorted & printed (and no time so bollox to fact logo running off page). Delivered by 16.00.
On one of the trips to MSM saw 3 home delivery vans which prompted me to do a bit of research comparing stores. It's a bit hard as even notionally the same items are labelled differently (eg 80gm in 1 v 100g in another ). Add the bewildering delivery charges and that's a recipe for confusion. That said, if we went to Asda or Tesco's we'd be paying ca £8 in taxi fares anyway. One of the most surprising things was that Tesco's came out far more expensive than I'd anticipated.
Went home & had remains of pasta while listening to the last couple of episodes of "The News Quiz' then reading.
