Crazy Seb's Wacky Olympic Lottery™

My Twitter posts associated with the frikkin shambles that has been the London Olympic Tickets Fiasco:

  •  The surprise may turn out to be that anybody got a ticket at all ...
  •  Why don't they also send an email confirming debit. Must know this so can say what you've won in shambolic Olympic
  •  If haven't got 2 events applied for don't think I'll bother wasting more time on 2nd round. Starting to wish Paris had won!
  • So looks like we didn't win anything in Crazy Seb's Wacky Olympic Lottery™ ...
  • 'Call Me Dave' was right about one thing: when it comes to the Olympics, we are all in this togther; most of us got fuck-all
  • So what should I spend the money that was going to go on Olympic tickest go on? Maybe I'll go to Paris for a couple of weeks (they lost too)
  •  At least I'm not the only one to lose in Crazy Seb's Wacky Olympic Ticket Lottery™ - even Brad Wiggin's family missed out!
  •  Just so disappointed & pissed-off with whole shambles - Lou's not happy either :¬(
  •  I know - it's becoming an international embarressment (asuming it wasn't already). How come other cities didn't have problems?
  •  Pissing-off 80%+ of the applicants round the country - not exactly the best way to build-up passion for the Olympics is it?
  • London 2012 Olympics: Boris Johnson misses out on tickets to the Games  #2012
  • According to Sky News, more than 250,000 didn't get tickets for the London Olympics
Update: Didn't get anything in the 2nd round either. Olympics might as well be on the moon for all the relevance/interest they now have for myself & the wife. x:¬(

    Geordie Receptionist's Do Things Differently

When taking a job in it's normal proceedure to find out what the customer wants.

Not if you're Louise Dobson. Her idea of reception is to take in the job and put it in the tray. When queried as to what required she said she didn't know & suggested we called the customer. Or, to put it another way, do the job for which the University is already paying her.

Maybe they do things differently in Newcastle.

    We're not @ war ... Again

David, George & Nick have spent the last 6 months complaining that we are broke so we couldn't afford a magic bean. Which begs the question, how the hell can we possibly afford another foreign war?

At an estimated £10-15m per week that's an awful lot on money we have been told we haven't got. Are George & Danny planning to root around down the back of every sofa in the treasury in the hope of finding enough cash?

    I see dickhead people

I often wonder whether I'm talking English as it appears that I'm surrounded by people who either don't speak it or don't understand it.

Exhibit a: Bloke phones up wanting to hire display boards. I tell him they are all booked out. "So there aren't any left?" No, that's what none available means you stupid prick!

Exhibit b: Reception phone up with a job that has colour in it. Tell her that we are out of colour toner so might not be able to do it today. She books it in for the end of the day anyway. If you weren't going to bother listening to the answer why did you ask the fucking question? Twat!

    A Grand Birthday Out

Left Cambridge in a horrible, foggy mizzle - visability was down to a 150 yards by M11 junction. Journey was decent apart from spot of traffic near roadworks. Unbelievably, looking out of window when traffic slow saw a women in a BMW convertible open a copy of "Closer" on the wheel and read it as she was driving along (admittedly the traffic was only going 20mph but still)!

Got off @ Embankment & walked to Temple to start. Things we saw/did (in order of memory)
    • St Bride's Church & crypt (Fleet St) - interesting
    • The Gherkin - huge & impressive (didn't try brownies advertised in cafe @ bottom)
    • The Bank of England museum (with gold bar) - 'Wind in the Willows' author Kenneth Grahame used to work @ the bank
    • The Memorial wall in the Postman's Park (King Edward St) - fascinating
    • The Royal Exchange - nice building, shame about the shops
    • The Barbican - hideous statue of muse "Zoe"
    • the Guildhall buildings
    • The amphitheatre outline (Guildhall Yard)
    • Lloyds building
    • Fenchurch St Station (another one off the Monopoly Board)
    • Pizza in the Dickens Inn, overlooking St Katherine's Dock - tasty as ever & as we got there after lunchtime we had the entire place to ourselves
    • Leadenhall Market - excellent pint of Young's in Lamb tavern & city men getting their shoes shined
    • Leadenhall market doubles as "Diagon Alley' in Harry Potter movies
    • Statue of Reuters founder & Sir George Peabody (rear of Royal Exchange)
    • Frank King's sundial in Paternoster Square - know & do work for Frank & Lou has met Lida Kindersley who made it!
    • Statue of Queen Anne outside St Pauls - not Victoria as is usually assumed
    • Pint of Doom Bar in Princess of Wales near Charing Cross (nice bogs down v, steep stairs)
    • Memorial for victims of Bali bombs (near Cabinet War Rooms/St James' Park)
    • Danny Alexander (going back to Commons to continue being Axeman Osborne's stooge) & Douglas Hurd (looking lost in Westminster Station)
    • St Katherine Cree Church bell ropes (Leadenhall St)
    • Did look at going into Tower of London but feet too tired!
    • Also looked at Tower Bridge Exhibitionbut huge queue to get in and thought of wallking along top wasn't very appealing!

    Worst excuse ever

Walking to work and saw an exchange between 2 cyclists in Green st.

Cyclist 1 (exiting Green St): It's a 1 way street so don't raise your eyebrows at me love.
Mouthbreather (entering Green St the wrong way): I live here

What an utter fucktard! I doubt she'd be happy if she was knocked off her bike by somebody who justified it by the fact they live here ....
