But, they also didn't come out decisively in favour of a new vote. Instead Corbyn & his allies argued that it'll only happen if 12 impossible things occur first.
In short, the Labour Party is now not only a party of Brexit (as much of the Tories are) but is against many of its own members & voters.
It's fair to say that this hasn't gone down well!
It will annoy activists (who may not bother campaigning for the EU elections).
It's causing people to leave the party in disgust.
It will certainly annoy voters who thought that the party was against Brexit.
The young in particular will regard Corbyn as just another liar and could punish the party at the 2 polls this month accordingly.
The very fact that the Labour Party is now pro-Brexit & for denial of free movement is a very stupid place to be (and opponents will make hay with the fact).
If there is an general election this brainless decision could cause a wipe-out of Labour MPs.
It's probable that the young who propelled Corbyn to the cusp of power in 2017 will turn their back on him next time. Ditto 'Remainers' like Lou & I.
The knobheads at the top of the party have just ensured that they will never be in power for the foreseeable future!
Perhaps that just where they want to be ....
