Had a nasty surprise at around 16.25 - DM from Gordon saying Dad had been in a car accident and had been taken to hospital. Initial details were that he'd passed out at the wheel in Chester.

Tried to get in touch with Mum but couldn't connect to the mobile.

Wen to meet Lou at the Mitre & checked again with same result. Went to the Pickeral as Mitre closed for refurbishment and then onto the Isaac to meet Heather.

Got an update from Gordon later in the evening with more details.

Finally got a call from Gordon around 20.00. It seems he'd had a hypoglycemic attack while driving. Managed to steer car through a gate and stop. He'd had ECG & MRI scans but nothing showed up (apart from slightly enlarged heart probably due to hormones released). They decided to keep him in over night to be on the safe side.

Mum understandably shaken (she said she was going to have a whisky to calm her nerves).

In other news Heather not happy that Chelski lost again. Also Arsenal got beaten by Olympiakos (Spiro will be ecstatic) and are bottom of the group with no points. Seems Wenger decided to drop Cech and Ospina, who replaced him, dropped a cross over the line. To progress Le Arse probably have to beat free-scoring Bayern Munich home & away and hope other results go their way.
