A baking hot day at a weekend for a change.
Up fairly early and into town to get bits for picnic at the Shakespeare later. Went to Oxfam & other charity shop looking for a belt to go with the gun.
Cooked the potatoes while we did the washing and then went to the pub to watch the cricket. Missed Starc's dismissal as Alissia & Victoria couldn't find the key. Watched the remaining 25 minutes of the game before ENGLAND WON THE ASHES!
After sitting in the sun for an hour or so I went home to make the dressing for the sald: loads of mayo, about 2 teaspoons of vinegar & the same of mustard. Really tasty & well pleased.
Went over to Trinity but had to wait for somebody to open the gate. Some mad old bat snuck into the ques and then tested about 12 different seats (tripping over the rope, causing me to LOL). Alex, Martin & their friends came over too. The play was brilliant.
Dropped the stuff back & sat in the sun outside the Isaac then home to put polish onto the metal parts of the gun. It's looking properly smart now.

Went out early again to Jo's place for iced coffee & toast/bacon roll. Wandered round the market but didn't see anything we really fancied (though did see a pork belly slab that would be good for when we next cook for Ali &Tim & only £10).
Back to the Isaac & sat outside reading & ignoring Le Arse getting it handed to them by West Ham.
After some debate I had reserved a table from 15.30 for the LFC match against Stoke. While there I showed Dick & Ratter the picture of Cookie & Cookie Monster. Dick reckoned that she'd be having it enlarged & putting on her wall.
Not long after Heather herself turned up with an enlargement of the photo to go on her wall. Chatted while showed the rest of the photos & autographs shed got then in for food & football.
Despite their best efforts and my gloominess Liverpool actually won; Coutinho's wonderful strike breaking the deadlock in a game that was drifting towards a draw.
After being nagged by Dick we stayed on to do the quiz where we proved to know loads about cooking terms but nothing about geography. From 2nd place by 1 point to a distant 4th by 21 points.
