Away from fevered speculation about which Jurgen Klopp would take over there was also specualtion about 'chaos' as people had to pay 5p for a plastic carrier bag. Sunday 04/10/15
Up late and straight over to the Isaac for the Derby match & lunch.
Lou had booked one of the Lamb specials: Lamb steak with mediterranean couscous, tzatziki & roasted vine tomatoes. She said it was delicious and all the flavours went together. Had a try of the couscous & tzatziki & agree they were tasty.
LFC are like the England team: look good on paper but awful on grass. Everton over-ran us in midfield (Phil was hardly seen) but Ings scored a good goal. Then, after some excellent saves from Simon, we hit the self-destruct button again. Emre Can's attempted clearance hit Martin S and fell at the feet of Lukaku who hit an instinctive shot into the net a couple of minutes before half-time.
The second half was a bit dull though there was another round of handbags (Can & Barkley had started it) when Lukaku bravely/rashly decided to have a go at Sahko.
In the end a point a piece was probably a fair result.
Heather came in & ordered the lamb as well & both agreed that it might be one of the best specials they'd had.
Watched the Arsenal v ManU. The Gunners hit 2 goals in as many minutes & were 3-0 inside 20 minutes. Saw some ManU fans (who were all strangely quiet) slink away. ManU were better in the 2nd half, wouldn't have been difficult but couldn't get even one back.
Which isn't funny.
Was browsing twitter around 18.30 when news broke that Brendan Rogers had been fired!
There are some stories that FSG had taken the decision in the week but didin't want to destabilise preparations for the derby and that even a win wouldn't have saved him.
Looking back it was probably inevitable, though should have gone in May/June. It's never nice to see a guy lose his job and he got closer than any manager for decades to winning the title. On the downside, he was 1 of only 2 LFC managers to win nothing (the other is Woy Hodgeson).
I'm sure he was devastated but you can't argue with performances and results. The obvious candidates are Jurgen Klopp & Carlo Ancelotti. FSG have the taken advantage of the international break to recruit the new man & get him in before our next game.

Saturday 03/10
Up for breakfast relatively early. Went to the Regal but there was a large queue & only 1 guy working (& he was dicking about). Went to Jo's instead.
Went over to thr Grafton to look in charity dshops etc. Lou got 2 necklaces & a hat from Primark. Saw some nice coats. Also saw a kid who was maybe 12 trying a size 18-22 coat on. She was so obese she couldn't actually do it up!
Ambled back into town. Stopped in Oxfam on the bridge & found a really nice waterproof coat that fitted Lou well, was brand new & was only £15. Bargain!
Wen to the pub for a few hours to kill time & at 16.00 set off for the Food Park Night Market. We were 1st in the queue. Found that there was a "Gin Den' serving 'Pinkster' which was lovely. Had a pizza 1st then a rosti
Left around 19.00 as it was getting cold and went to the Isaac. Consoled Heather after Chelsea lost again (missed 'The Special Once' giving a 7 minute monologue).
Watched England v Australia. We were utterly outplayed & the least bad area was the line-out. And that wasn't great. Australia by comparison were better in every department.
A load of cunts from Churchill came in, including1 screeching harpy who brought her own wine & fell over. Hope she gets the pox.
Away from assorted rude fuckers (God may have mercy on them but I certainly wouldn't) England made history for the wrong reasons. We were mounting something of a fightback when Owen Farrel was binned (with 10 minutes to go) for a high tackle. That ensured Lancaster's team are the 1st host nation in RWC history to be eliminated in the group stage!
That's England's football, cricket & rugby teams who have been eliminated in the group stages of each of their respective sport's world cups.

What a day!
Lots of work done and packed up for MSM & the lab. Nearly out of paper as it didn't turn up.
Another day of lovely warm weather - I approve of this October so far.
Had the following from Mum:
Dad had another attack during breakfast so I rang 111. He had a very bad attack whilst the paramedic was here. He asked for an urgent ambulance immediately and we got to A&E very quickly. They had trouble stabilising the heart beat and he had two very bad attacks and a few minor ones during the course of the morning. After lunch, not that we got any, various doctors and two specialists came to see him and it was decided to implant a pacemaker today. Up we went to the Cardiac unit, more things stuck into him and around 3.15 he was taken off for the procedure. His specialist said it can take up to two hours, well he's been trouble all morning, their words not mine, so I have come home for food. I have to ring around 6.45 and I have a number you can ring and maybe speak to him, 01244 366529. I have no idea if I can go back but they are keeping him in overnight to monitor him.

I called her before I left and she was still quite upset but had got home as no point hanging about.
Met Lou in the Isaac & she poped out to call mum as well & check she was OK.
Watched Wales edge past Fiji & then hold off the late surge. Callled Tim at half time & got told he was watching it on catch-up, was 13 minutes in, didn't want to know what happened & told to go away....
Called Mum about 19.30 and she'd decided not to go to see Dad as he was having his tea (plus buses rubbish). I suggested that she went to the club for a drink & to be with friends. Plus she could fill everybody in at once rather than hammering the phone.
The I called Dad. He seemed a light brighter and happier. The operation was a success and he was already feeling a lot better which was good news. They were keeping him overnight to make sure it was working properly.
Watched Liverpool play like excrement against Swiss minnows FC Sion (who held up a bannner demanding 'Justice Pour Le 96") managing a draw.
Long past time for Rogers to collect his P45 and play like that against Everton & he will be getting it.

How the fuck has 3/4 of the year gone already?!?
Didn't have a good start as 1 phone dead & 1 sickly as the stupid bint I married decided to unplug them from the chargers as 'the light was irritating' her.
Of course I didn't find this out until 07.10 when I went to pick up the S4 to check on the weather.
Grrrrrr!
A busy morning completing all the bollocks for Emma at MSM.
Mum emailed at 11.30 to say that Dad was back in A&E waiting for the pacemaker to be fitted later today.

Got good news about dad at lunchtime - Gordon DM'd me to say that he'd been released from hospital . They think the problem is that his heart occasionally slows down so they think that a pacemaker would help. No date when the op will be but as it's a simple procedure (day surgery effectively) that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
A very busy day not helped by Emma at MSM suddenly announcing that they needed 395 booklets doing for Friday AM. This is becuase they need to be taken to Chemistry in town and they people who were supposed to do it next week now can't.
Went over to the Food Park (via MSM) - there were loads of people but by the time I got there most had ordered. Got a halloumi & aubergine thing from Tin Kitchen. It didn't even last as far as the Computer Lab.
Met Lou in the Isaac and watched the ManU game with Will.
